Jennifer Harris

B.Ed., M.C.

Registered Psychologist

Jennifer is a Registered Psychologist who has been helping children, youth, and families navigate their way through various struggles over the past 15 years. She uses a variety of approaches to best assess and meet the needs of the children and youth she supports. Jennifer holds specialist certifications in E.M.D.R., Play Therapy, D.B.T, Solution Focused Therapy, and Sand Tray Therapy. A warm relational approach allows Jennifer to create a non-judgemental environment where the process is therapeutic collaborative and strength based. 

 

 Jennifer has a special interest in supporting clients through challenges with anxiety, mood, emotional regulation, grief and loss, recent traumatic events, and relational issues. Previous to her role as a Registered Psychologist, Jennifer worked in a variety of Edmonton and area schools as a department head of student services, coordinator of specialized learning services, school counsellor, and teacher. Her background and understanding of education and school based support provides families with an integrated and holistic approach to supporting young people with complex needs. 

Outside of the office, Jennifer enjoys the outdoors with her family. She believes in the power of play and she recognizes the strength in building community.

Chelsey Weinbeer

B.Ed., M.Ed.

Reading Specialist

Chelsey is a Reading Specialist with over ten years teaching experience in complex elementary classrooms. Her Special Education Masters degree in Reading, Writing and Oral language allows her to tailor specialized learning experienced for children who find traditional classroom learning a challenge.

As an early education specialist, Chelsey became passionate about early identification and intervention as an essential aspect of a joyful school experience. She continues to work as a Literacy Lead teacher for the local public school district, to inform best practices and make learning more accessible for all children.

Chelsey is Level B Assessment certified and is under review with the Academy of Orton Gillingham Practitioners and Educators.

Heidi Van Aerde

M.Sc., R.SLP, S-LP(C)

Speech-Language Pathologist

Heidi is a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with active registrations in both Alberta and British Columbia, and is also a member of Speech-Language & Audiology Canada. Heidi specializes in the assessment and treatment of stuttering, speech sound delays/disorders (including Childhood Apraxia of Speech), and language delays/disorders. 

 

Heidi has completed advanced training in the areas of stuttering, CAS, and speech sound disorders, including Lidcombe, the Comprehensive Stuttering Program, Camperdown, Let’s Start Talking, and Let’s Talk Clearly.

 

Heidi is passionate about providing evidence-based therapy for clients age 3 and up, including teens and adults. She provides services both in-person and online.

Sharon Saini 

M.A., R.Psych.

Registered Psychologist

Sharan is a registered psychologist and a Doctor of Psychology candidate. Her treatment approach integrates modern psychology’s understandings of emotions, thinking, and behaviour with principles from Eastern psychology such as mindfulness.

Sharon has a special interest in trauma treatment modalities and transpersonal psychology. Her past counselling experiences include working in crisis intervention and community mental health with Alberta Health Services.

Sharon offers psychological treatment and assessment services for individual adults. She can offer bilingual services in Hindi and Punjabi languages, which are covered under most insurance plans.

Julie Russell

RegisteredOccupational Therapist

Julie is a pediatric Occupational Therapist, teacher, nature lover, and mom to 2 kids based in Edmonton, Alberta. She is passionate about engaging children and their families through a neuro-affirming and strength-based lense. With a focus on empowerment and growth, Julie's philosophy of care strives to create meaningful and joyful purpose for her clients.

 

With over a decade of professional experience, Julie's expertise in supporting self-regulation and sensory needs, adaptive skills, motor development, social participation, executive functioning needs, and daily life skills are rooted in evidence-based care, and include specialized training in sensory processing, trauma-informed therapy, feeding and mealtime strategy development.

Andrea Collins

Canadian Certified Counsellor 

Andrea is a Certified Canadian Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, with a Masters in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

 

Andrea has a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from the University of Alberta, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Memorial University.

 

Andrea's warm personality creates a welcoming and familiar environment for her students and clients alike. She uses Play Therapy to support her clients in communicating their voices, as well as other therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Solutions Focused Therapy. Andrea has also begun Theraplay training to assist in building the nurturing relationships between children and their caregivers.

Judith Pinto

Registered Occupational Therapist &

Level 1 Neuromeditation Practioner

Judith is a Registered Occupational Therapist (Alberta) specializing in integrative mental health and psychotherapy.  With over 28 years experience in supporting the holistic needs of children, adults, and families with neurodevelopmental struggles, her private practice focuses on improving their capacity for regulating their attention, emotions, moods, and behaviours to improve functioning in daily life.  

 

Judith integrates her extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy; Sandplay Therapy; NeuroMeditation; Circle of Security Parenting; and Polyvagal informed therapy, in addition to sensory processing, executive function development, and lifestyle design through a combination of clinical consultations, psychoeducation, coaching, and direct therapy, 

 

When she is not working, she making music; spending time in nature; sharing time with friends, family and pets; and learning more about how people heal and grow.

Caitlin Marr

Speech-Language Pathologist

Caitlin is a pediatric speech-Language Pathologist with 10 years of experience providing services to children. She is passionate about building connections and relationships with her clients in order to support their growth.

 

Caitlin constantly seeks out continuing education to update her knowledge and practice and strives to provide neurodiversity-affirming services. Caitlin recognizes that a whole-child approach is most effective and places emphasis on collaboration with parents, caregivers, and other members of a child’s learning team.

Caitlin’s clinical interests include: supporting children with complex communication needs, augmentative communication, early speech, language, and literacy development, speech sound disorders, and natural language acquisition/ gestalt language processors.

Marcela 
Chavez-Harrison

Registered Psycologist

Marcela is a Registered Psychologist with over fifteen years of experience. Her goal is to help her adult clients work towards and learn practical ways to make their happiness a priority.

 

She focuses on supporting clients with addictions, anger, anxiety, depression and life changes. Maricela uses Cognitive - Behavioural therapy to focus on the "here and now" and psychodynamic therapy to explore experiences from childhood that could be impacting present issues. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective clinical intervention focused on resolving distressing or traumatic memories.

Marcela believes that a successful counselling outcome is a partnership between a supportive and competent therapist and a client's commitment to the process. Take the first step towards a positive change!

Morgan Deeks

Administrative Assistant

Morgan is a fourth-year student at Grant MacEwan University, majoring in Sociology specializing in family and youth, and minoring in Psychology. She hopes to continue her education towards her goal of becoming a children’s counsellor.

 Outside of school, Morgan enjoys spending time and going on adventures with her puppy and quality time with her friends and family.
